Chengdu Huanglongxi Ancient Town
Huanglongxi Ancient Town is located approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Chengdu, situated to the east along the Fu River (Jin River) and north adjacent to Muma Mountain. Historically, Huanglongxi served as a significant military stronghold and key defensive position in southern Chengdu. During the era of the Shu Han dynasty, Prime Minister Zhuge Liang designated Huanglongxi as the starting point for military campaigns into the southern regions, stationing large numbers of troops here and contributing significantly to the governance and defense of the Shu region.
Huanglongxi enjoys a strategic geographical location at the junction of Pengshan, Renshou, and Shuangliu counties, serving as the administrative center for these three counties in ancient times. It has also been a gathering place for scholars and literati throughout history, with many historical and cultural relics still well-preserved in the town.
